A regular forum for the Yemeni (Al-Namaa) Network in conjunction with the International Volunteer Day

The Yemeni (Al-Namaa) Network for Civil Society Organizations in Hadhramaut Valley organized its regular forum for its members, in conjunction with the International Volunteer Day, which falls on December 5th

The forum, which witnessed a wide attendance of representatives of civil society organizations, included a group of activities and lectures aimed at enhancing the role of volunteer work in serving the community.

At the opening of the forum, Mr. Mubarak Yaslam Bin Shahab, Director of the (Al-Namaa) Network Office in Hadhramaut Valley, stressed the importance of reviewing the performance report of member organizations – during the year – 2024 AD, pointing to the prospects for planning for the coming year. He highlighted the work directives to enhance development efforts in serving the local community.

Bin Shahab praised the pivotal role of volunteer work in developing society and enhancing social solidarity.

The Director of the Social Sector at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor Office in Hadhramaut Valley and Desert, Mr. Munir Suwaidan, reviewed the requirements for renewing licenses for civil society organizations, providing advice and guidance on adhering to the regulations governing the work of these organizations, with the aim of enhancing their efficiency and ensuring the sustainability of their activities.

The forum included a lecture by Dr. Riyad Abdat on Zakat, in which he discussed the methods of disbursing Zakat in a way that achieves the goals of humanitarian work, stressing the need to direct Zakat funds in a way that ensures a positive and sustainable impact for beneficiaries.

The forum witnessed a review of experiences and success stories in volunteer work presented by the Secretary-General of the Union of Youth Volunteer Forums in Hadhramaut, Murad Brikan, urging the attendees to encourage and support volunteer initiatives as they have achieved successes in a number of humanitarian fields and community service.

Through periodic forums, the Al-Namaa Network seeks to enhance communication and coordination between civil society organizations, and keep pace with developments and legal and administrative requirements to ensure the continuity of development and humanitarian work in the governorate.
